Wupa Woods (乌帕大森林) is Animula Nook’s first exploration ground — the area you head into once your homestead is set up. It featured prominently in the game’s March 2026 closed alpha test and is named directly in the official Steam description, so more is confirmed about it than about most unrevealed areas.
What’s confirmed
It’s the game’s first exploration zone. In the alpha, players started on the Starside Homestead — a desktop and balcony area where you build and plant — then moved into Wupa Woods as the first area beyond home. Two locations are named officially. The Steam store page lists both:

The name comes from the Wupa. Wupas are the cat-like creature companions that accompany you in Minietopia — the same creature the team leans on in their announcements (the “Wubus” that carried Minietopia to Gamescom is a Wupa joke).

Not part of Wupa Woods, and not dated — but officially mentioned as future exploration content:
- A bustling plaza
- A mysterious mushroom zone with its own native inhabitants
- Restaurant-style areas
The developers have described future areas as having native residents, gathering mechanics, mini-games and hidden surprises, without tying any of that to a specific zone.
