Is there a confirmed Animula Nook release date?

No. Despite what some listing sites suggest, there is no official release date for Animula Nook — not a day, and not even an official year. You may see aggregator pages claiming a "2026" release; that's an estimate, not an announcement from the studio.

What's actually confirmed is that the game is in active development. It ran a limited PC alpha test in March 2026, and the developer has said only that future plans will be shared through official channels. We update this page within hours of any real date being revealed.

When is the next Animula Nook test?

A second test — the "定格" ("Ding Ge" / freeze-frame) test — is dated 22 September 2026 in China. With no release date in sight, that is the nearest thing to a playable milestone this game has — but where the announcement came from matters, so here is exactly what was said, and by whom.

What is confirmed (first-party, Chinese channels)

• The 定格测试 announcement of 24 August 2026, posted to Tencent's official Chinese channels, sets these out directly: test opens 22 September 2026, 10:30; sign-ups run 24 August 10:30 – 15 September 23:59; an eligibility check opens 20 September 10:30.
• The same announcement describes the test as 限量·不付费·删档 — limited slots, no payment, and progress wiped when it ends — with entry by filling in a recruitment questionnaire on the official site or official social accounts.
• It also states that players who qualified for the previous test ("在往期测试中符合条件的心想家") receive a place automatically.
• At Tencent SPARK 2026 on 27 May 2026, Tencent's own press release stated that the new Insoul race will move into Minietopia in the next test ("因索族将在下次测试入住摇粒乡"), alongside richer Minie animations and dialogue.

Also reported (Chinese games media, not in the announcement itself)

• Android, iOS and PC — HarmonyOS and emulators reportedly not supported.
• The automatic-qualification route is reported to have a threshold — reaching level 60 in the first test, or taking part in the first round of the 摇粒乡 co-building programme. The announcement itself says only "players who met the conditions in previous tests."
• New camera features (homestead, Minie interactions, Wupa Woods) that save to an in-game album, plus a pumpkin house said to carry over into the eventual launch build, balloons, a dead-wood-area treasure, a giant pumpkin, and new Minie interactions — visiting, gift-giving, lounging together.

Read together, those statements place the Insoul race in the second test, and the second test on 22 September 2026 — in China.

What is not confirmed

All of the above came through Chinese channels. As of 25 August 2026, no English-language source — the Steam news hub, the @Animula_Nook account, or the official English site — has announced a second test, opened sign-ups, or said whether players outside China are part of the same test. The Steam news hub has not posted since 7 April 2026, and @Animula_Nook's posts from 22–25 August are entirely Gamescom content with no mention of a second test.

There is one precedent worth knowing: the first test ran in both regions at once. The closed alpha for overseas players on Steam and the Chinese 「安家测试」 both opened on 19 March 2026. That is a precedent, not a promise — the schedules could diverge this time.

How much warning was there this time?

The Chinese sign-up window opened 24 August, 29 days ahead of the 22 September test date — much more lead time than the first test's seven days' notice. That undercuts an earlier read on this page, which expected the date to land just days before the test opened; it landed almost a month out instead.

Practically: if you are outside China, there is a confirmed China-region date but still zero English-language confirmation, so treat 22 September as a China-only date until that changes. Wishlisting on Steam and joining the official Discord are the two places an overseas test invitation would surface first. We update this section the moment an English-language announcement lands.

Animula Nook PC release date (Steam & Epic)

Animula Nook is confirmed for PC on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, but no PC release date has been set. PC players got the first hands-on access during the closed alpha in March 2026. Wishlist the game on Steam now to be notified the moment it launches — and check the PC system requirements from that alpha build to see if your machine is ready.

Animula Nook Switch 2 release date

Animula Nook is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, with no release date announced. The console versions have not had a public test yet — March 2026 alpha access was PC-only — so a Switch 2 build hasn't been shown in playable form. It's not yet confirmed whether all platforms will launch on the same day.

Animula Nook PS5 release date

Animula Nook is confirmed for PlayStation 5, with no release date announced. Like the other console versions, PS5 hasn't been part of any public test so far. We'll add the PS5 date here as soon as it's official.

Animula Nook Mac release date

A Mac version is also confirmed via Steam. No separate Mac date has been given — it's expected to follow the same TBA timeline as the other platforms.

What we know about Animula Nook so far

Animula Nook is a cozy "lilliputian" miniature life sim. You shrink down and reimagine an ordinary desk as a tiny world: use a shrink gun to turn clutter into building materials, craft a home from odds and ends, grow giant crops, style your daily OOTD, and explore the enchanting Wupa Woods. The world is called Minietopia, where you play a Wishweaver alongside companions known as Minies.

Animula Nook alpha test recap

Animula Nook held its first alpha test on PC (Steam), starting March 19, 2026. It was a limited, time-boxed build: all progress was wiped at the end, and the developer noted it did not represent the game's final quality. The test gave players the first real look at core systems — shrinking, homestead building, crop growing, and character customization.

When will the Animula Nook release date be announced?

There's no official window for the announcement itself. Given the game's progress — a completed alpha and over 10 million pre-registrations — the next beats to watch are additional test phases or a launch reveal at a major showcase.

The nearest one is Gamescom 2026, running August 26–30 in Cologne. LilliLandia Games confirmed on July 17 that Animula Nook will have a booth there (Hall 08.1, Space A-051-B-050), teasing new Minie friends and "unexpected surprises" during the show. A dedicated booth at the world's largest games event is the most likely near-term venue for a date reveal — though the team has not promised one. One beat lands before the show floor does: Gamescom Opening Night Live on 25 August, 20:00 CEST. Animula Nook has not been named in anything previewed for it, and no stage slot has been announced. Show plans and trailer reveals tend to surface in the one to two weeks beforehand, which makes the stretch from now to 25 August the one to watch — earlier than the show dates suggest.

One earlier read on this page has since been overtaken: the expectation was that Gamescom's 30 August close, right before the autumn test window, would be a natural moment for the team to say something to an international audience. Instead, the second test's date came out on 24 August — two days before Gamescom even opened — and through the Chinese channels, not the show. Gamescom's English-language coverage (22–25 August) has been entirely show material, with no mention of the test.

Before that, the team's July 6 "Minietopia Online" mid-year dev update recapped six months of work and showed off the new Insoul race — but explicitly joked about still having no release date, so nothing changed there.
