The Animula Nook characters you will meet are called Minies (粒粒) — the tiny original inhabitants of Minietopia. Each one has its own personality, backstory and friendship path, and they are sorted into four races. This page is the full roster hub: pick a race below to read every confirmed character profile.
Animula Nook has not released yet, so this list grows as LilliLandia Games reveals new Minies. Nothing here is invented — if a character has not been officially shown, it is marked as unrevealed.
How many characters are in Animula Nook?
The development team has said Animula Nook is being built with around 100 Minies. The first PC alpha test, which ran 19–30 March 2026, let players meet nearly 50 of them. The launch roster has not been finalised or confirmed.

Race not yet stated: an official character spotlight has also introduced Jennifer, described as one of Minietopia’s older Minies and a great storyteller. The developers have not said which race she belongs to, so she is not listed above.
More races are on the way, too — in the post-alpha Dev Diary the team confirmed that new Minie races are in development alongside upgraded character interactions.
Your companion: Wupa (乌帕)
Wupa is your personal companion — a lucky little creature inspired by real-world stray animals, designed to look a little like a cat. More than a pet, Wupa is a symbol of good fortune in Minietopia, carrying wishes and blessings wherever it goes.
Each Wupa has its own look and personality. You will be able to adopt one as your partner and explore Minietopia together, and official footage has shown Wupa helping players travel through the air. The game’s main exploration zone, Wupa Woods (乌帕大森林), is named after them, and the team has confirmed a dedicated Wupa companionship system is being expanded after the alpha test.
The friendship system
Building relationships with Minies is central to progressing in Animula Nook. From what the developers have demonstrated, friendship will grow four ways:
- Talk daily — even a quick chat earns friendship progress
- Give gifts — each Minie has favourites, and gifting those is worth more
- Spend time together — farm, explore and play music side by side
- Complete requests — helping a Minie with a task is the biggest single boost
As friendship grows, you are set to unlock new dialogue, unique gifts, special memories and access to new areas. Minies you befriend can eventually move into your homestead, get a room decorated to their own taste, and comment on your outfits.

Tips for building friendships fast
- Prioritise daily conversations — consistency will matter more than grand gestures
- Learn their preferences — pay attention to what each Minie mentions liking
- Do not neglect anyone — some story events are tied to specific friendships
- Wear things they react to — Minies comment on your outfit, so dressing to their taste is a free interaction
