Tencent’s SPARK 2026 showcase just revealed major updates coming to Animula Nook. Whether you’re a new player or seasoned collector, there’s something for everyone.
🌟 New Insoul Race - Meet the Brand-New Minies
The Insouls (因索族) are a completely new race of Minie friends that will soon call Minietopia home — joining the Starmates, Boobos and Weirca as the fourth confirmed race. Two characters have been officially announced:
🧡 Mikan (蜜柑) – The Protective Guardian
Design: Soft orange Minie with a signature paper bag outfit
Personality: Protective and cautious — she’s never without her trusty paper bag, which she treats like armor
Quote: “蜜柑像保护果实一样，为自己套上了纸袋子” (Mikan protects herself like a fruit in a paper bag)

⚙️ Little Guardian (小神兵) – The Nostalgic Automaton
Design: Brown mechanical robot with expressive gear-based face and retro-futuristic charm
Personality: Quirky and endearing, with a signature “always one beat behind” vibe
Quote: “反应超绝缓慢的发条机器人粒，真实年龄老的惊粒！” (A delightfully delayed wind-up robot — truly vintage at heart!)

🏘️ Minietopia Expansion
Tencent’s SPARK 2026 press release was precise about when the Insouls arrive, if not about the date: the new race will move into Minietopia in the next test (“因索族将在下次测试入住摇粒乡”), alongside richer Minie animations and dialogue and a broad upgrade to player interaction.
That next test now has a date. On 2 July 2026, the official forum for 《粒粒的小人国》 — the Chinese release of Animula Nook — first said the second test would open in autumn 2026; on 24 August, Tencent’s official Chinese channels named it the “定格” (“Ding Ge”) test and dated it 22 September 2026. All of this came through Chinese channels; no English-language source has confirmed a second test or opened sign-ups. The release date tracker has the full breakdown.

🍎 Animula Nook Is Coming to Mac App Store
Big platform news from SPARK 2026: Animula Nook is officially heading to the Mac App Store!
An exact launch date hasn’t been announced yet — the team has confirmed at least one more test phase before the Mac version goes live. We’ll update this page the moment a release date is confirmed.
macOS joins PC (Steam & Epic), PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on the confirmed platform list — see the platforms guide for the status of each, and the release date page for the launch picture overall.

FAQ
What was announced for Animula Nook at Tencent SPARK 2026? Three things: the Insoul race, a brand-new mechanical Minie race with Mikan and Little Guardian as its first confirmed characters; their arrival in Minietopia in the next test; and a Mac App Store version of Animula Nook.
Is the Insoul race playable yet? No. Animula Nook has not launched, and the Insouls were not part of the March 2026 closed alpha. Their abilities, roles and any Insoul-specific mechanics have not been announced.
