What is Animula Nook?

Animula Nook (粒粒的小人国) is an upcoming free-to-play cozy life simulation game developed by LilliLandia Games (银之心工作室), a studio under Tencent Games. You play as a tiny person who has shrunk down to about 5cm tall, living in a miniature world called Minietopia — built on top of an ordinary desk. You build a home, farm, craft, explore, and befriend the local inhabitants called Minies.

Is Animula Nook free to play?

Yes. Animula Nook is free to play. The development team has stated a player-experience-first approach to monetization, with a focus on a generous, non-intrusive model. Full monetization details will be confirmed closer to launch.

When is Animula Nook releasing?

No official global release date has been confirmed yet. The game has been through testing phases, and at least one more test is expected before full release. We’ll update this page the moment a date is announced.

What platforms is Animula Nook on?

Animula Nook is officially confirmed for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), macOS, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A mobile (iOS / Android) version has not been officially confirmed. See our Platforms Guide for details on each.

Who develops Animula Nook?

Animula Nook is developed by LilliLandia Games (银之心工作室), a studio under Tencent Games. It’s part of Tencent’s “SPARK” incubation initiative for fresh, original game concepts.

What are Minies?

Minies (粒粒) are the adorable original inhabitants of Minietopia. Each one has a unique personality, backstory, and friendship path. You meet them while exploring, build relationships over time, and can invite them to live alongside you in your homestead. The game launches with around 100 Minies, featuring 1.5 million words of dialogue. See our Characters Guide.

How many races are there in Animula Nook?

There are four Minie races, each with their own distinct look and lore:

  • Starmates (星友足) — Human-like and friendly
  • Boobos (卜卜族) — Cute and animal-like
  • Insouls (因索族) — Mechanical and tech-styled
  • Weirca (危咔族) — Wildly imaginative designs

What are the Insouls?

The Insouls (因索族) are a mechanical Minie race built from clockwork and technology, announced at Tencent SPARK 2026. Confirmed Insoul characters include Mikan and Little Guardian. They’re coming to Minietopia soon. See our Insouls Guide.

Is Animula Nook like Animal Crossing?

They share a cozy, miniature-world charm, but they’re different. Animula Nook puts you in the perspective of a shrunken human on a real desk (rather than an animal villager), features around 100 Minies with deep dialogue, has optional light combat (the Dark Star Abyss), and a layered co-op system. See our full Animula Nook vs Animal Crossing comparison.

Does Animula Nook have multiplayer?

Yes. Animula Nook has a three-layer social system: a co-op dungeon mode (Dark Star Abyss), exploration assistance, and casual social play like visiting friends’ homesteads. Importantly, solo players can earn all rewards — social features are optional, never required.

What is Minietopia?

Minietopia is the miniature world where Animula Nook takes place — a desk-top world where everyday objects become giant landmarks. A clock becomes an armchair, a bottle cap becomes a plate, and an ordinary desk becomes a vast world to explore and build in.

Is Animula Nook coming to Mac?

Yes. macOS is a confirmed platform for Animula Nook (announced at Tencent SPARK 2026). No exact launch date for the Mac version has been confirmed yet. See our SPARK 2026 recap for details.
